MANILA, Philippines – Hundreds of train passengers were unloaded on Wednesday morning after a power supply glitch temporarily stalled the operations of the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3).
In an advisory, the MRT-3 management said a problem in the train line’s power supply from Ayala Station to Taft Avenue Station happened at 10:17 a.m.
“The matter was immediately coordinated with our power personnel,” the MRT-3 said in a statement.
The issue on the power supply caused the evacuation of passengers at the northbound interstation of Magallanes and Ayala at 10:34 a.m.
The MRT-3 management said the power was restored a minute later and normal operations have since resumed.
“We continue to investigate the cause of the power supply issue, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” it said.
