
We often call them ‘ma’am’, ‘sir’, or ‘teacher’ but there are times when we call them ‘mama’, ‘mommy’ or ‘tatay’—a fitting title for their role as our second parents.
Students may forget about the lessons they learned in Math, Science, and in — History, but they will never forget about the teachers who taught them discipline, patience, and perseverance.
In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, appreciation posts are shared on social media to show how much they love their mentors.
Teachers also expressed their gratitude for the love and surprises they received from their students.
Dr. Corazon Santos from Ateneo De Manila University said she remains enthusiastic in teaching because she wants to share the joy of studying.
She also said she had no regrets opening herself to students who are in need of support even outside the classroom.
“Sa mga panahong kailangan natin mag-usap bilang nanay at anak, magkaibigan, o kaya estudyante at titser, bukas ako, (For times when we need to talk as a mother and child, as a friend, or as a teacher and student, I am here),” she said.
The Senate also honored the teachers for their commitment to shaping the future leaders of the country.
