
MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Sunday (December 15) reported that structures at Davao Airport sustained cracks following the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the area earlier in the day.
Based on the status report, no damage were reported on the airport’s runway but structural damages were seen in the facility.
Specifically, cracks were noticed on the ground near passenger boarding bridge #5 and international baggage buildup area.
The airport management is still verifying the level of damage, according to the report.
According to the latest situation report, no damages were reported at the airports in Mati, Tambler and Cotabato, Butuan, Laguindingan, Pagadian, Dipolog, and Zamboanga.
These airports remain operational, the report said.
“CAAP Operations Center shall continuously monitor the status of the airports and provide updates as necessary,” the agency assured.
