QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Police authorities on Wednesday (Jan. 1) arrested an alleged member of the terrorist group Daulah Islamiyah in North Fairview, Quezon City.
The suspect, Datu Omar Palte, Jr., alias, Allan Palte is said to be a former member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).
PNP officer-in-charge PLtGen. Archie Gamboa said Palte acts as the point man of the terrorist group in Metro Manila to gather and send information to Sulu and Basilan.
Palte was said to be involved in the attacks in a military camp in Midsayap, Cotabato, and the killing of a security guard in Pampanga.
The PNP, however, ensures that they have not monitored any threats in the security in Metro Manila. —(with details from Harlene Delgado) /mbmf
