More evacuation centers in Tanauan City, Batangas were opened due to the influx of evacuees after the local government implemented mandatory evacuation.

As of 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday (January 15), the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) recorded 1,119 families or 4,388 individuals taking shelter in 13 evacuation centers in Tanauan City.

Authorities advised residents to go to other evacuation centers as some of the evacuation centers in the area, including the old municipal hall of Tanauan city, are already full.

Authorities also continue to monitor strategic areas to stop residents from entering the danger zone.

Meanwhile, other government agencies and private sectors continue to provide assistance to evacuees.

The local government continues to call on other residents to follow the directives of authorities for their own safety.—AAC (with reports from Asher Cadapan Jr.)
