It is already innate among Filipinos to find a silver lining even in the worst adversities.

Thousands of residents in Batangas and other areas have been taking shelter at evacuation centers after the Taal eruption on Sunday (January 12).

These centers have been receiving boxes of donated old clothes ranging from school uniforms to prom night suits that sparked jokes and hilarious posts across social media.

Netizen Mary Margaret Huertas posted a compilation of Taal residents flaunting their “bakwit fashown”.

“Tunay na nakakatanggal ng stress kahit papaano. Ganito talaga mga Batangueño eh, sa ganitong pagsubok ay nagagawa pa magpangiti. Malaki paring tulong ang mga donations niyo (It somehow removes the stress. Batangueños still find ways to smile despite adversity. Your donations are still a big help),” she said in her post.—AAC (with reports from Ninya Armillo)
