MANILA, Philippines – The first Filipino who got infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Singapore has been released from the hospital, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.
In a statement, the DFA said the Filipino has been given a clean bill of health and was discharged on February 28.
“This brings the total of COVID-19-positive Filipinos in Singapore back down to two,” the department said.
The second Filipino to have contracted the disease was confirmed on February 29 while the latest case was announced on March 2.
The DFA said both patients are currently receiving appropriate treatment at the Singapore government’s health facilities.
“The Embassy is in close coordination with the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Singapore and stands ready to extend assistance to the COVID-19-positive Filipino nationals as needed,” the department said.
