MANILA, Philippines — Train drivers at Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) have begun putting on personal protective equipment (PPE) to work as protection against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The drivers don their overall suit complete with face mask, face shield, and gloves as part of the strict implementation of health and safety protocols at MRT-3 stations.
Also, the line’s management is always making sure that the trains get the regular disinfection in between trips as well as the station premises and facilities to protect all employees and passengers.
In early July, the number of COVID-19 cases among MRT-3 personnel reached more than 200, with ticket tellers among those infected with the disease.
