
MANILA, Philippines — Technology company giant, Google, pays tribute to the late Comedy King, Dolphy, on what would have been his 92nd birthday.
Google Doodle featured a caricature of Dolphy on its homepage on Saturday (July 25).
Rodolfo Vera Quizon in real life, who was born on July 25, 1928, was a multi-talented actor whose career spanned decades from being a vaudeville actor in the pre-World War 2 era to his most iconic role in the family sitcom “John and Marsha” to the superstar status that he enjoyed until the time of his death on July 10, 2012, at 83.
“Today’s Doodle celebrates the 92nd birthday of Philippine comedian, actor, producer, and philanthropist Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, dubbed the country’s “King of Comedy.” The star of over 200 movies and multiple long-running television series, Dolphy warmed millions of Filipinos’ hearts for over six decades,” Google narrated on its page.
