MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has denied holding raffle draws online and warns the public against fake posts on social media.
In an statement, the department said they have received numerous reports about Facebook posts claiming that DSWD is giving away P50,000 to P60,000 from its Social Amelioration Program.
The department strongly denies the said reports and reiterated that the malicious posts are only phishing for personal information from netizens. It also appealed to the public to only refer to official DSWD pages, groups, and websites to avoid scams.
The DSWD encourages the public to remain vigilant and to refrain from participating in dubious activities online by suspicious individuals. AAC
