Big-time LPG price hike on January 1, 2021

MANILA, Philippines – Higher cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products greeted consumers on the first day of the year 2021 after oil firms implemented price increases.

Solane has increased the LPG price by P3.73 per kilogram as of 6 am of January 1. This is equivalent to a P41.03 price hike in its 11-kilogram cylinder.

Phoenix Petroleum also implemented an increase in the price of its Phoenix Super LPG by P4.15 per kilogram, which is equivalent to P45.65 increase in its 11-kilogram tank.

Phoenix also hiked its auto LPG price by P2.35 per liter.

Petron likewise announced adjustments in the price of its household cooking gas by P4.16 per kilogram, equivalent to a P49.06 increase in a typical 11-kilogram tank, and auto-LPG prices by P2.33 per liter.

“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of January,” it said.

The price adjustments took effect on January 1, 2021.
