The Manila City Government has opened registration for the COVID-19 vaccine for its residents.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso announced the local government already signed a non-disclosure agreement with pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and AstraZeneca for the vaccine.
He added that the local government and the said companies are waiting for the advanced marketing commitment contract to be finalized to reserve the purchased vaccines.
Domagoso said that they initially plan to purchase 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines. Health workers will be prioritized for the free vaccination followed by senior citizens.
He also announced that they have launched a website where residents can register if they want to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Magpa-reserve na po kayo ng inyong slot sapagkat ang bakuna po ay voluntary. Iyan po ay ipagkakaloob sa inyo nang libre ng inyong pamahalaang lungsod (Reserve your slots because the vaccination is voluntary. It is provided by the city government for free),” he said.
The Manila Mayor also assured that the vaccines that will be used are registered and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Residents who will register for the COVID-19 vaccination can visit the website and provide the necessary information needed. -AAC (with reports from Joan Nano)
