
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday recorded 1,047 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s total tally to 480,737.
Of the total cases 22,690 are active and undergoing treatment or quarantine.
Based on DOH’s 4:00 p.m. bulletin, the recovery count rose to 448,700 with 339 recoveries. The death toll also climbed to 9,347 with the addition of 26 new fatalities.
The health department assured that the new COVID-19 variant has not been detected in the country. The department also said that contact tracing is ongoing for the passenger of a flight from Manila to Hong Kong who tested positive for the new COVID-19 strain . AAC (with reports from Aiko Miguel)
