MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte is mulling over attending the PDP-Laban gathering set to be held on Wednesday, Malacañang said.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the PDP-Laban’s meeting will proceed as scheduled but will be held in Clark, Pampanga.
“There is a possibility that the president will make a personal appearance,” he said. “Pero may back-up din na virtual appearance.”
The PDP-Laban was supposed to hold the convention in Bulacan but decided to move the venue to Pampanga.
“The PDP-Laban convention will proceed as scheduled on a different venue dahil MECQ sa original venue nila sa Bulacan,” Roque said.
The gathering, organized by the faction of PDP-Laban president and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, will be reportedly held to adopt a previous party resolution naming Duterte as its vice presidential candidate for the 2022 elections.
