MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines on Monday logged 20,745 more cases of COVID-19, pushing the nationwide tally of confirmed infections to 2,248,071.
The Department of Health (DOH) said the latest count brought the country’s active cases to 180,293.
Of these cases, 86 percent are mild, 9.4 percent are asymptomatic, 2.62 percent are moderate, 1.4 percent are severe, and 0.6 percent are in critical condition.
All accredited testing laboratories in the country were operational on Sept. 11 but five laboratories failed to submit data on time, the DOH noted in its report.
Meanwhile, total recoveries rose to 2,032,471 after 22,290 more patients recovered from the disease.
COVID-related deaths climbed to 35,307 with 163 new fatalities.
Government data also showed that 74 percent of 4,300 ICU beds nationwide are occupied.
Around 69 percent of nearly 20,500 isolation beds in the country are also in use while 74 percent of 16,100 ward beds are occupied.
Data also showed that 57 percent of the more than 3,300 ventilators in the country are being utilized.
In the National Capital Region, 78 percent of the total 1,400 ICU beds are occupied.
Around 65 percent of the 4,600 isolation beds are in use while 73 percent of the 4,400 ward beds are being utilized.
Of the total 1,200 ventilators in the capital region, 63 percent are being used.
The DOH also reported 26.7 percent COVID-19 positivity rate out of the 71,860 tests conducted on September 11.
