MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has included Julian Ongpin in its list of monitored personalities, Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said Wednesday.

In a statement, Morente said this is in compliance with the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

An ILBO is issued to monitor itineraries of flight, travel, or whereabouts of a subject that may attempt to leave the country.

“His name has been included in our derogatory database, and we are monitoring his border movement,” Morente said.

“All immigration officers nationwide in both airports and seaports have been instructed to closely monitor his travel and to prudently verify if he has an existing warrant of arrest, if encountered,” he added.

Ongpin has bee tagged as a person of interest in the death of artist Bree Jonson.

Jonson’s body was found lifeless in a resort room in San Juan, La Union over the weekend.

Initial police investigation stated that the deceased painter was accompanied by Ongpin.

Ongpin, son of businessman Roberto Ongpin, was said to be the boyfriend of Joson.

He is facing drug-related charges after police recovered cocaine from the resort room. He also tested positive during the drug test.
