MANILA, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will take a few days off, from October 5 to 8, which is in time for the period of filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2022 elections.
Duterte revealed this during a radio interview on Monday.
Prior to this, the mayor also said she would be filing a leave of absence for medical purposes.
She did not elaborate on the health reasons behind her said break.
It can be recalled that Duterte also took a few days’ leave from Sept. 8 to Oct. 5, 2020, and on April 6 to 10, 2021 for health reasons.
She also disclosed that she is planning to take another leave in April 2022.
Duterte has announced her plans to seek re-election despite calls for her to join the presidential race in next year’s polls.
