MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported additional 292 fatalities due to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the nationwide death toll to 37,978.
“Moreover, 212 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation. Please take note that 175 of these recoveries to deaths are part of the 292 deaths added today,” the DOH said in a statement.
The DOH has been posting separate advisories on the number of deaths related to COVID-19 after its COVIDKaya System encountered technical issues, preventing it from extracting data on the number of deaths for three days.
The agency uses the COVIDKaya system to handle, receive, and process bulk data from the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
In a separate advisory, the DOH said it will release the daily case bulletin by 7 p.m. due to recent technical issues in COVIDKaya.
“The schedule of release shall revert back to 4 p.m. once technical issues are resolved,” it added.
