MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines on Tuesday posted 9,055 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the nationwide case count to 2,613,070.
The Department of Health (DOH) said the number of active cases in the country has gone down to 103,077.
Of this tally, 78.8 percent are mild, 11.4 percent are asymptomatic, 5.65 percent are moderate, 2.9 percent are severe, and 1.2 percent are in critical condition.
Total recoveries rose to 2,471,165 after 12,134 more patients recovered from the viral respiratory disease.
Deaths related to COVID-19 remained at 38,828. The DOH noted that no deaths were reported on Tuesday due to technical issues in the COVIDKaya information system.
The DOH said that seven accredited testing laboratories failed to submit data on time.
Government data also showed a positivity rate of 19.3 percent out of the 41,673 tests reported on Oct. 3.
The DOH said that ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients are 72 percent occupied nationwide, and 72 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Ventilators in use are 54 percent of the total 3,500 nationwide, and 58 percent of the 1,100 units in the capital region.
