MANILA, Philippines — Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade on Saturday announced that his decision to no longer file his certificate of candidacy (COC) was prompted by multiple reasons.
Tugade said that not filing his COC will emphasize that the efforts of the DOTr in finishing projects are not, in any way, in aid of election.
“It is just in doing and completing what we sincerely and honestly think is good for the country, the people, and the sambayanan,” the official said on his Facebook post.
“Tuloy ang trabaho sa pagtatapos ng proyekto. Tuloy ang pagtawag pansin sa mga tamang gawa,” he added.
Tugade, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude for the trust that he received from his supporters.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa tiwala, suporta at dasal. Sana po ay tuloy-tuloy ito hanggang matapos ang mga proyekto,” he said.
Tugade was among the senatorial line-up of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Cusi-wing for the 2022 national elections. —/mbmf
