Some P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by police authorities in an operation in Caloocan City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.
In a statement, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said the illegal drugs were confiscated during an operation jointly conducted by the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Oct. 23 in Barangay 84.
A drug suspect, identified as Arturo dela Cruz Jr., aged 38 and works as a delivery rider, was arrested during the operation.
The PNP said police authorities were able to confiscate 500 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, as well as a P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money and some boodle money.
“I commend the joint operatives of the PNP and PDEA for this successful operation.
The suspect is currently under PDEA III custody while the complaint of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against him is being readied.
Following Dela Cruz’s arrest, the PNP Chief reminded delivery and courier service firms to carefully scrutinize persons they employ as delivery riders.
