MANILA, Philippines — The general pediatric vaccination among children aged 12 to 17 in the National Capital Region (NCR)— regardless of health status — rolled out Wednesday, November 3.
Metro Manila local executives said each of them has a target number of children to be vaccinated.
The Quezon City government aims to administer anti-COVID-19 jab doses to 14,000 children 12 to 17 years old every day.
Navotas City targets to inoculate around 900 minors within the day in the city’s three vaccination venues.
Marikina City, meanwhile, said it is prepared to administer 2,000 jab doses to children who will go to its mega vaccination hub at the Marikina Sports Center.
Caloocan City also targets to inoculate 2,000 children in the five areas dedicated for the pediatric vaccination rollout.
Taguig City, which is a day early in the vax rollout, targets to reach 1,000 vaccinees every day in the LGU’s venues: the Lakeshore Hall and Bonifacio Highstreet.
The Manila City government, on the other hand, plans to inoculate 3,000 children the whole day Wednesday in selected hospitals.
Mandaluyong, meanwhile, announced that they will only vaccinate children with comorbidity on Wednesday at IMAX in SM Megamall.
San Juan City also aims to inoculate 800 children aged 12 to 17, who have started to flock to the FilOil Flying V Center.
Upon close monitoring, the city government has not recorded any adverse effects among children vaccinees.
Respective LGUs continue to appeal to parents to register their children in the vaccination rollout to receive protection against COVID-19. —/mbmf (from the report of UNTV Correspondent Janice Ingente)
