MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang awaits the results of the Senate investigation on the January 25 Mamasapano clash before declaring any position on the issues.

According to the group BAYAN, basing on the statement of former SAF chief Director Getulio Napenas in the Senate hearing, President Benigno Aquino III and PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima were seemingly lying on their role in the Mamasapano operation.

Presidential Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., however said, it is better to wait for the result of the Senate probe which intends to lay down the complete narration and truth behind the said incident.

Coloma added that according to what the President previously declared, they expect the MILF to provide concrete proof of cooperation in the peace process by way of assisting the operation against Usman, charging the accountable, and returning arms and personal belongings of the fallen PNP-SAF members.

Malacañang moreover stated that what is important as of now for the administration is the implementation of the provisions under the comprehensive agreement on the Bangsamoro, aside from the expected compliance of the MILF group in their obligation under the said agreement.  / UNTV News)
