The Bureau of Fire Protection has given recognition to UNTV, Rise & Shine and Kuya Daniel Razon for their participation and cooperation in promoting fire safety in the country during the fire prevention month.
Recently, the UNTV Fire Brigade Team has undergone training at the National Fire Safety Institute in Camp Vicente Lim in Laguna to elevate its capacity to respond to fires and other calamities.
The UNTV Fire Brigade is part of the enhanced UNTV news and rescue which aims to save life.
This is still part of the public service given by UNTV, led by Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon.
“He continues to do it through his program, through UNTV. Since I’ve been in Region 3, UNTV has worked with us. They always support me in everything I did since 2010 until now. I would like to thank the Honourable Brother Daniel Razon,” said Bureau of Fire Protection OIC Csupt. Ariel Barayuga.
UNTV, in turn, promised to continue working with the BFP to expand public service further.
UNTV Rescue Team Operations Manager Jeffrey Santos said, “You know Kuya Daniel, Mr. Public Service himself, of course, he would make sure we are part of this advocacy. To the BFP, thank you very much because you included us in a very good program, not only to save lives of many but to provide more knowledge about putting out and preventing fire,”
Apart from UNTV and Kuya Daniel, the program Rise and Shine was also given recognition for its contribution to public knowledge and understanding of the importance of fire safety.
Even the hosts of Rise and Shine, Louella De Cordova, Jenny Fajardo and Miss Jackie Aquino, gave fire fighting training a try when they visited the bureau for a glimpse of a day in the life of firefighters.
“We salute all fire fighters and all personnel in the agency. Congratulations. They are heroes,” said host Jackie Aquino.
Though the fire prevention month is over, the BFP promised that they will continue the Barangay Ugnayan projects especially in areas where many informal settlers, are oftentimes victims of fire. (JOAN NANO/ UNTV News)
