QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The hearing on Sen. Jinggoy’s motion for bail has been cancelled on Monday due to an event in the Philippine Judiciary Academy where Sandiganbayan justices are in attendance.
Next Monday’s hearing is also cancelled because Sandiganbayan 5th Division has an out-of-town hearing.
Senator Jinggoy expressed dismay on the slow movement of bail petition hearing because of frequent cancellations.
The court hearing is set every Monday in which the senator attends in person.
Estrada said the hearing has been cancelled for so many times this year.
The senator’s camp has requested the court to give his bail petition a different schedule.
Sandiganbayan Executive Clerk of Court Atty. Renato Bocar however said, each Sandiganbayan division has loads of cases to handle.
Adding another schedule for hearing still entails further study and consideration so as not to overlook any case that the Sandiganbayan is handling.
It is also a mandate of the Sandiganbayan to conduct out-of town hearings outside Metro Manila. (NEL MARIBOJOC / UNTV News)
