MANILA, Philippines — Former DILG secretary Mar Roxas ranked second on chosen personalities that may succeed President Aquino.
The survey was conducted from September 2 to 5 on 1, 200 respondents who were asked to choose the best person who can possibly succeed President Aquino as leader of the country.
Senator Grace Poe tops the survey with 47 percent from 42 percent last quarter, second is Roxas with 39 percent from 21 percent, Vice President Jejomar Binay in 3rd place with 35 percent from 34 percent, and fourth is Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte with 16 percent from 20 percent.
Next in rank are senators Chiz Escudero, Bong-Bong Marcos, Manila mayor Joseph Estrada and Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.
Those who received 1 percent are Panfilo Lacson, Manny Villar and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Poe said that the survey is an affirmation of the Filipinos’ faith that her agenda is on the right track.
Malacañang welcomed Roxas’ significant jump in the surveys. According To Presidential Communication Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma junior, this only reflects the greater trust of the filipino people in his capability to lead the country.
Vice-President Binay’s camp is unshaken by the new survey result. Binay’s political spokesperson Attorney Rico Quicho said there will be no changes in their campaign direction and the vice president will continue to visit provinces and talk directly to people.
Meawnhile, Poe and Escudero lead the vice presidential race survey with 25 percent and 18 percent respectively while Marcos and Roxas both have 6 percent.
Next in rank are Binay, Duterte, Cayetano, Robredo, Legarda, Estrada, Trillanes and Santiago.
Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima, Villar, Pacquiao and Lacson have only 1 percent.(UNTV News)
