QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The Court of Appeals has dismissed the petition of former Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay which seeks to annul the preventive suspension of the Ombudsman imposed on him.
In a unanimous resolution, the CA Special 9th Division, stated that the petition has become moot after the former mayor was dismissed from the service.
The court added it will not matter anymore whether they rule in favor of or against Binay’s petition.
The Office of the Ombudsman imposed a 6-month suspension on Binay this June over the anomalous construction of Makati Science High School building.
