Bureau of Fire Protection tries to fan its semis bid when it battles a well-rested Philippine National Police today in the 4th UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Coming off a morale-boosting 74-72 win over the Kenneth Duremdes-led Senate Defenders, the Firefighters are slightly favored over the PNP Responders in their 7 p.m. showdown.
The Firefighters are currently tied for Group B lead with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers at 5-1 in the tournament for the country’s public servants organized by UNTV President and CEO Daniel Razon.
Expected to lead the Firefighters is fire volunteer and former Far Eastern University player Marlon Adolfo who erupted for 34 points in their big win over the Defenders last week.
In other games, reigning champion Judiciary fights for dear life when it battles National Housing Authority at 5 p.m. while Group A leader Malacanang collides with MMDA at 3:30 p.m.
With a 2-3 card in Group B, the Judiciary Magis are in dire need of a win to keep their flickering quarter final hopes alive.
