MANILA, Philippines — The Liberal Party is yet to confirm reports alleging LP stalwart Rep. Isidro of shifting support to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Liberal Party Spokesperson Congressman Miro Quimbo says Ungab has denied the allegations and this is why the party is not confirming his withdrawal of support.
This is despite the fact that Congressman Ungab defended Mayor Duterte on his Facebook account.
The lawmaker also shared posts showing Duterte leading the presidential surveys.
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said they have not received the complete details yet.
“Hayaan mo na ang LP. Hindi ko rin alam ang balitang yan,” Lacierda said.
(Let LP be. I’m also not aware of that report.)
UNTV News tried to get the official statement of Congressman Ungab but he is not answering phone calls and text messages.
Aside from Ungab, Davao 1st District Rep. Karlo Nograles and LP Provincial Chairman Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario also shifted support to Duterte.
However LP assures that the party is still intact despite all the criticisms against them. (GRACE CASIN / UNTV News)
