MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has rescheduled release of the initial list of candidates to December 23.

COMELEC Chairman Andres Bautista said the poll body has yet to resolve the motions for reconsideration (MR) filed by candidates declared as nuisance by the COMELEC’s 1st and 2nd divisions.

To date, there are 29 MRs filed at the COMELEC.

The COMELEC is also awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on the petition against the “No Bio, No Boto” campaign of the poll body.

Chairman Andres Bautista said, “Kung kailangan kaming mag-marathon deliberations we will do so.”

(We will hold marathon deliberations if necessary.)

Bautista said they expect to come up with a final list for printing on ballots by the third or last week of January.

He also added that candidates with pending petitions will still be included in the list of candidates. (VICTOR COSARE / UNTV News)
