QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Aside from Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, two other former lawmakers are now awaiting the resolution of their bail petitions by the Sandiganbayan.

State prosecutors have submitted their formal offer of evidence at the 5th division and 4th division of the anti-graft court, handling the plunder cases of former APEC Partylist Rep. Edgar Valdez and former Masbate Rep. Rizalina Lanete.

Attached in the formal offer of evidence is the summary of documents and witnesses presented during the entire bail hearing at the Sandiganbayan.

Included in the list are the result of the investigation by the Ombudsman, Commission on Audit report and testimonies from whistleblowers such as Benhur Luy, Marina Sula, Merlina Sunas and others.

Valdez has not yet submitted his comment on the offer of evidence while Lanete insisted that the other camp failed to prove that she amassed and accumulated illegal wealth from the PDAF scam.

Janet Napoles, the co-accused of the lawmakers, said the evidence were irrelevant and immaterial and does not prove her guilt.

Both Valdez and Lanete are facing plunder charges at the Sandiganbayan for allegedly endorsing their Priority Development Assistance Fund or PDAF to fake NGOs of Napoles.

Both lawmakers are currently detained at BJMP Camp Bagong Diwa while awaiting the decision of the anti-graft court on their bail petitions.(JOYCE BALANCIO / UNTV News)
