QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The arraignment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona for charges of perjury was postponed by Sandiganbayan 3rd Division.
This is to give ample time for the prosecution and the defense to submit their comments and reply to the motion to squash filed by Corona.
Corona had asked for the dismissal of the case for lack of strong evidence against him.
This has prompted the court to postpone his arraignment to March 30.
Corona was charged of perjury at the Sandiganbayan due to the alleged under declaration of his Statement of Assets Liabilities and Networth during his term as the country’s chief justice. (JOYCE BALANCIO / UNTV News)
