QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Tuesday night’s first Wish 1075 Music Awards was a success.
Young singer Darren Espanto was hailed the big winner, bagging a total of six awards: Wish Young Artist of the Year; Best Wish Cover for the song “In Love Ako Sa’Yo”; Wishclusive Viral Video of the Year for his rendition of the song “Chandelier”; Wish Ballad Song of the Year for the song “I Believe In Me”; Wish Original Song of the Year for his song “Stuck”; and the Best Wishclusive Performace by a Young Artist.
His fan group “Darrenatics” also won the Most Wishful Fandom Award.

Darren Espanto said, “I’m very happy na nakasali po ako dito sa event po na ito. And hindi ko po talaga inexpect na ganito po talaga karami yung mare-recieve na awards tonight kaya nagugulat po talaga ako. I feel very blessed.”
(I’m very happy that I was able to join this event. I didn’t expect that I would receive a lot tonight. I’m so surprised. I feel very blessed.)
Morisette Amon was hailed as the Wishers Female Artist of the Year.
Meanwhile, Jason Dy bagged a number of awards including the Wish Male Artist of the Year and the Wishers Choice Male Artist of the Year, Best Wishclusive Performace by a male artist; and the Wish Urban Song for “Milagro”.
Yeng Constantino was hailed the Best Wishclusive Performace by a Female Artist.
And the Wish Alternative Song of the Year was Sponge Cola for the song “Move On”.

Other awardees last night include Jensen and The Flips who won the Wish Promising Artist of the Year; Maris Racal who bagged the Wishers Choice Young Artist and Wishers Choice Wishclusive Performance of the year for her rendition of “Don’t Know Why.”
The night’s Best Wishclusive Performace by a group went to “5th Gen” for the song “Contagious”.
Winners of major categories received a trophy and P100,000 to be given to their chosen charities.
All participating artists were grateful for the opportunity to showcase their work and be able to help their charity of choice at the same time.
Morrisette Amon said,”I feel blessed kasi last year I’ve won awards pero they recognized me as a new artist. Ito, it was… derecho na. Iba siya kasi I’m giving away to a beneficiary that’s Home for the Angels and not just winning for myself, I’m also winning for others. It’s a good cause.”

While Sponge Cola vocalist Yael Yuzon said, “Apart from the glamor of it and the prestige, there’s also this element wherein we get to help. It’s a great thing. Its’ a great idea.”
Hosts Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho thanked the organizers for letting them be a part of this one-of-a-kind awards night with a heart.

“Fun, super fun. It’s been amazing to be an OPM fan and this is such an honor to everyone who loves music. The artists, the fans, were just glad that Wish FM took that brave step because you know we can see the benefits right now,” Ho said.
Her partner, Robi, admitted, “Well, my expectations were exceeded of course. This event, this is history in Araneta and I know Wish 107.5 will continue this kind of event.”
The star-studded awards night dished out top performances from the nominees and guests artists.

Wish 107.5 Music Awards is just one of the ways Wish FM Radio supports local artists in the Philippine music industry for the continuity of Original Pilipino Music or OPM.
The man behind the innovations of Wish FM 1075 Kuya Daniel Razon announced future plans and projects for the FM station, one of which is the Wish Eyeball.

Kuya Daniel said, “Of course, yung mga binanggit natin kanina na iba’t ibang mga wishes na kukunin natin from the wishing walls, na ilalagay natin sa isang wishing well na yung mabubunot natin doon, meron tayo monthly wish that we will grant and we will also have our grand eye ball where we will be choosing the top 10 wishes that Wish FM will grant.”
