Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte is about to complete the members of his cabinet.
New names include his campaign manager, Jun Evasco as Cabinet Secretary.
Former AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon as the National Security Adviser.
Silvestre Bello III who was initially reported to be reinstalled as the Chief Negotiator in the National Democratic Front will sit as the secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
“Of course, I would like to offer my gratitude to President Duterte for choosing me, which means he trusts that I would be able to implement his programs in the labor field,” Silvestre Bello III said.
Fifth is University of the Philippines Economics professor Ernesto Pernia who will be taking over the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)
Col. Rolando Bautista will become Chief of the Presidential Security Group.
Meanwhile, it was earlier announced by the transition team that the following will be members of the Duterte administration.
Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre II for the Department of Justice.
Former Agriculture Secretary Carlos Dominguez for the Department of Finance.
Perfecto Yasay Jr. for the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Cong. Mark Villar for the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Arthur Tugade for the Department of Transportation and Communications.
Manuel Pinol for the Department of Agriculture.
Salvador Mediadela as Executive Secretary.
Atty. Salvador Panelo as the Presidential Spokesman.
Si Atty. Jose Calida as Solicitor General.
And Jesus Dureza for the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.
At present, the camp of the presumptive president is still in searching for candidates who will complete the cabinet.
“We were not able to discuss anything with Mayor Duterte yet, at what account, there are no new announcements yet,” Atty. Salvador Panelo said in a statement.
Among the vacant positions are the secretary of the Department of Budget and Management, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department of the Interior and Local Government, National Defense, Education department and the Department of Health.
Duterte reiterated that he made no consultations to anyone as to thes election of those who would become members of his official family. In as far as he welcomes suggestions, the final decision would still depend on him.
