QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Two unidentified men, suspected to be carnappers, were killed in an encounter with the authorities in Biak na Bato, Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City at 3:00 a.m., Friday.
Based on the initial findings of the Quezon City Police District Station 1, a checkpoint was being conducted along Maria Clara St. when the two suspects, who were on board a motorcycle, refused to undergo body check and immediately escaped.
“They took the U-turn slot as they reached the checkpoint, prompting the tactical motorcycle driver to pursue them and ending up in encounter resulting in two casualties,” said, Psupt. Joselito Esquivel.
Authorities chased the motorcycles and exchanged gunfire.
The two individuals did not get very far before they were gunned down by the police.
Recovered from the suspects were a revolver, and the motorcycles they used and were known to be stolen after it matched the description of a missing motorbike in Novaliches.
“The motor is owned by a police who is assigned in Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches (…) He looked at the CCTV and at around 11:30, a suspect who is in white tops took the motor and confirmed that it was the stolen motor,” Esquivel said.
At present, investigation on the identification of the two is being conducted.
