PASAY CITY, Philippines — These are the two aircrafts that were sequestered from one of the identified cronies of former president Ferdinand Marcos.

In an auction today held at the hangar of the Northern Resort Inc. in Pasay City, the Sandiganbayan sold these two for 140,000 pesos.

Five bidders participated in the auction which lasted for only 15 minutes.

The smaller 6-seater Cessna aircraft was sold for 100,000 pesos while the 10-seater plane was given at the price of 40,000 pesos.

The proceeds from the sale will be deposited to the cashier of the Sandiganbayan until the court orders for its turn over to the national treasury.

The court also ordered the payee to remove the 2 aircraft from the hangar or pay 10,000 pesos per day.

Both planes are named under Taggat Industries Inc. which was owned by Marcos’ late crony Alfonso Lim.

Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) filed the civil forfeiture case against Marcos, his wife Imelda, and his cronies Alfonso Lim, Alfonso Lim Jr. and Teodoro Peña in 1991.

After two decades, it was only on December 15 last year when the court ordered the respondents to return to the government all wealth and properties that were illegally acquired during the martial law regime.
