MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) rescinded yesterday its earlier declaration of a nationwide suspension of offensive police operations (SO-PO).
This is in line with the memorandum released by PNP Chief Ronaldo dela Rosa following President Rodrigo Duterte’s lifting of unilateral ceasefire with CPP-NPA-NDF.
Dela Rosa has directed all PNP units nationwide to remain on high alert and to continue their assignments particularly in running after rebel groups that threaten the country.
The PNP also assured to protect the people especially in areas where the armed communist group New People’s Army (NPA) are known to operate.
“All office/ units must be on high alert and continue to discharge their normal functions and mandate to neutralize all threats to national security, protect the citizenry, enforce the law and maintain peace in all areas of responsibility,” Dela Rosa said. (UNTV News & Rescue)
