DAVAO ORIENTAL, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the one-year suspension of provincial adjudicator, Romeo Covarrubias of the Department of Agrarian Reform, Davao Oriental after he was found guilty of disgraceful and immoral conduct and excessive absenteeism.
Investigation revealed that Covarrubias is cohabiting with his mistress and even introduced her to people as his wife.
DAR records showed, the suspended adjudicator reported for work only 65 times from May to December of 2013.
He also failed to justify his absences when asked for an explanation.
