MANILA, Philippines — The management of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) submitted to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) their counter proposal for the alleged P7.28 billion debt of the company to the Philippine government.
This comes after the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte, threatening the chairman and executive officer of PAL, Lucio Tan, of closing down the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, if the company refuses to pay its debt.
DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade said they now have the counter proposal of PAL and that it will undergo consultation and review before the government could decide on it. — UNTV News & Rescue
