MANILA, Philippines — Some government employees trooped to the head office of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) office in Manila, Tuesday morning.
They protested against the issuance of the Joint Circular No. 1 of the DBM, Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Commission on Audit (COA).
They said the circular will reduce their chances of becoming regular employees because they will be handled by a third-party agency.
“Kung hindi sila matatanggal…kung maabsorb man, mananatili paring contractual. Hindi sila gagawing regular,” said Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE) national president, Ferdinand Gaite.
(If they don’t get fired and the agency absorbs them, they will continue to be contractual employees; they will not be regularized.) — UNTV News & Rescue
