The 3 suspects who fell in the trap of PDEA and MPD personnel during a buy bust operation: Ronald Ocampo, Gerald Alvarez, also known as “Eloy”, and Jennifer Berdugo
MANILA, Philippines — Two men and a woman were nabbed in the buy-bust operation carried out by the Manila Police District (MPD) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday night.
The three drug suspects were identified as Ronald Ocampo, Gerald Alvarez, also known as “Eloy”, and Jennifer Berdugo.
Ocampo and Alvarez are both on the MPD watchlist while Berdugo is considered a high-value target by PDEA.
The authorities have conducted almost three weeks surveillance on the suspects before conducting the operation.
“Ang order ng informant namin is worth P150,000, so 50 grams. Tapos, eventually, nakita na lang namin, na-recover namin yung lalagyan. Doon naman nakita yung additional 100 grams,” said MPD District Drug Enforcement Units (DDEU) chief PSupt. Rogelio Ramos Jr.
“The order of our informant is worth P150,000, so it was 50 grams. Then, eventually, we just saw, we were able to recover the case, and there the additional 100 grams was discovered”
The confiscated drugs have a street value of P1- million.
Berdugo even used her nephew, who is a minor, in carrying the said contraband.
The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while Berdugo’s nephew will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Meanwhile, a woman died after being gunned down at Block 1, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City at past 9 pm on Tuesday.
No one witnessed the incident but a resident said they heard a gunshot before they found the victim’s lifeless body.
Recovered from the crime scene was the victim’s bag that contained money, receipt, and two mobile phones.
