QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched today its online appointment and scheduling system.
The system will facilitate the faster renewal of driver’s license and registration of vehicles. LTO is in collaboration with a private IT firm Stradcom in implementing the project.
LTO said the system will shorten application and registration transactions to 45 minutes as compared to the long process of walk-in applications.
LTO will designate a special lane in all its district offices to accommodate those who have online appointments.
“Dito mag log-in ka lang i-set mo yung appointment mo and then pagpunta mo dun sa LTO sa area ng online duon aasikasuhin ka na lahat hindi kana magpapali-palipat ng window,” LTO’s Chief of IT Division Rector Antiga.
“In the new system, you just log-in and set your appointment. When you go to LTO, go to the online area where your concerns will be processed; no need to move from one window to another.)
LTO, however, clarified that the online appointment system only caters to the renewal of driver’s license and vehicle registrations, not to new or first-time applications.
The system is now operational in five LTO district offices in Muntinlupa, Pasig, Novaliches, Marikina and in LTO Central Office in Quezon City.
Those who wish to apply for appointment may visit www.lto.gov.ph. Just click “LTO Online Pass” on the menu and fill up the appropriate application form. — Joan Nano | UNTV News & Rescue
