MANILA, Philippines — Ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno filed an appeal urging the Supreme Court to revisit its ruling granting the quo warranto petition filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida.
Calida questioned Sereno’s integrity after she failed to submit complete copies of her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
In an unprecedented decision that has sparked a legal firestorm, Sereno’s colleagues voted 8-6 to oust her as Supreme Court chief justice earlier this month.
