Duterte orders use of nationwide emergency ‘911’ hotline

MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte ordered Friday, June 1, the use of the numbers 9-1-1 as the nationwide emergency hotline.

Based on Executive Order 56 issued by the President, the three numbers will be called “Emergency 911 Hotline” that will be managed by the National Hotline Public Safety Answering Center or a National Call Center under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG.)

Meanwhile, Local Government Units (LGU) are encouraged to establish their respective local 911 call centers from their local budgets. The local call centers, however, will remain under the control of the national call center.

Among the primary responders are the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP.)

Meanwhile, major support responders of Emergency 911 Hotline include:

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)
Department of Health (DOH)
Department of Transportation (DOTR)
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)
Bureau of Immigration (BI)
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)
Local Government Units (LGUs)
