MANILA, Philippines – Solicitor General Jose Calida answered the comment of former Supreme Court (SC) Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno asking for a reversal of the High Tribunal’s ruling on her ouster through a quo warranto petition.
In the 78-page comment sent by Calida to the SC, he stressed that there was no one to blame for Sereno’s ouster but herself.
SolGen insisted that Sereno went through due process noting that the SC asked her to comment on the quo warranto plea even if it was beyond the rules of court.
Sereno needed eight votes from the magistrates for the reversal of the decision and be reinstated to the position.
Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio earlier said that the SC will finalize the quo warranto ruling this month. – UNTV News & Rescue
