QUEZON CITY, Philippines – There is no stopping Wishcovery’s Wishful 5 – Ace Bartolome, Carmela Ariola, Louie Anne Culala, Kimberly Baluzo and grand champion Princess Sevillena – from achieving their dreams as they mark the very first in the music history’s album launch record.
Award-winning Music Producer Junjee Marcelo and Star Music Audio and Content Head Jonathan Manalo both agreed that the Wishful 5’s album launch was indeed “historical.”
A total of 15,000 units of the group’s “Wishful Journey” album were sold out in a matter of hours on Monday, June 18, which accorded them both a gold and platinum award. According to Manalo, it was rare for a new group of artists to receive such overwhelming support from fans.
“First time na talagang for a new artist, sa isang baguhang grupo ng artist na ganoon karami at ganoon kahaba iyong pila. Sobra talagang natutuwa ako na iyong supporters nila talagang sobrang loyal at talagang pinilahan…First day nag- gold, nag- platinum agad and first time nangyari iyon sa history,” exclaimed Manalo.
The Philippine Association of the Record Industry Inc. (PARI Inc.) considers an album a gold record if it reaches 7,500 units of sales mark and platinum if it reaches the 15,000 unit sales mark.
The gold and platinum awards were given to the Wishful 5 during their successful “Wishful Journey” concert at the Big Dome on Tuesday, June 20.
Meanwhile, music veteran Junjee Marcelo considers it a great honor to be part of the Wishful 5’s songwriting team and have a hand in the five artists’ training, seeing their exceptional potential.
“I have no words. Ibang level talaga. Iyong ma- appreciate iyong ginawa mo, one thing iyon. Pero para ma- appreciate ng nakararami iyong ginawa mo ay sobrang blessing iyon. It can only happen because the LORD made it happen,” he said.
Kuya Daniel Razon, the innovator behind Wish 107.5, expressed his gratitude to the Lord for the record sales and for the success of the Wishful Journey concert.
“One day platinum, one day gold, kasi magkasama na…Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat na sumuporta sa Wishful 5. Una ang ating laging pasasalamat sa Panginoon sa lahat ng Kaniyang kabutihan…Sa mga hindi natin ine-expect pero ipinagkakaloob Niya pa rin,” he said.
Junjee, meanwhile, commended Kuya Daniel for the success of the project and hopes for more to come from Wish FM.
“Si Kuya Daniel na laging mahirap sundan iyong mga ideya dahil laging trail blazer. I just want to tell you personally Kuya Daniel na don’t ever stop doing those things kasi it really blesses a lot of people. People who really need a break.
