MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court (SC) directed the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday (July 13) to submit its position on the issue of shading threshold in the ongoing pilot recount in the vice presidential race.
The order came after the Office of the Solicitor General supported the position of former Senator Bongbong Marcos which emphasized that recount should use the 50 percent shading threshold.
The Comelec earlier issued a resolution to use the 25 percent shading threshold as the basis for the recount, something that the Solicitor General, who is the poll body’s lawyer, opposed. – UNTV News and Rescue
