The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is determined to file complaints against a woman who went viral after she was captured on video confronting an MMDA enforcer.
In the video posted on Facebook under the account of Gadget Addict, the woman can be seen arguing with the enforcer after the latter accosted her for illegal parking and asked to see her license.
The woman even tried to flee the scene and accidentally ran over the motorcycle of another enforcer.
The woman was later joined by her husband who insisted on bringing his pregnant wife immediately to the hospital as the stress was causing her to bleed.
In the end the couple refused to go with authorities to settle the dispute.
The MMDA said they will not let the incident pass and will file a formal complaint.
MMDA General Manager Jose Arturo Garcia said, “Baka pwedeng masuspend yung license niya dahil nga sa ganun niyang attitude (Her license may be suspended because of her attitude toward the incident).”
The agency is also planning to press direct assault charges against the woman for allegedly attempting to run over the enforcer.
On Wednesday, the couple went to the MMDA office to personally apologize for the incident.
They refused to give their identities to the media but according to reports, the woman works at the Department of Justice as a prosecutor.
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the MMDA enforcers especially to Col. Bong Nebrija and Constable Azures. We ask for your understanding as well as emotions got the best of us,” the woman said.
Her husband also thanked the agency’s officials.
“We would like to thank the MMDA leadership as headed by Chairman Danilo Lim and General Manager Jojo Garcia for giving us the chance, this chance, to make this apology and in recognizing the consequences of our actions,” he said.
The MMDA has yet to confirm if they will continue with the charges after the couple’s public apology.
