Mapua bomb scare a prank — PNP

Students of Mapua University leave in droves after the school administration suspended classes over a bomb threat.

The administration of Mapua University received a bomb threat through a text message on Tuesday.

It warned that members of the New People’s Army allegedly planted an IED inside the campus that was scheduled to go off at 5 pm.

Classes were immediately suspended and students were instructed to evacuate the school premises.

The explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) group responded to the incident and later declared the threat to be negative.

The EOD also alleged that the text message was likely sent by a student as a prank.

Following the clearance from authorities, the school announced that classes and work will resume on Wednesday, September 19. — UNTV News and Rescue
