Fresh from claiming their first victory against the two-time champion Judiciary Magis, the NHA Builders are now preparing for an upcoming match against the PhilHealth Plus in the ongoing elimination rounds of UNTV Cup Season 7.
The NHA basketball team is gunning for a second win as part of its aim to finish higher than last season’s fourth rank.
NHA Builders Head Coach Silverio ‘Bennett’ Palad III said they are now ramping up practices and tactics to boost the players’ stamina and chemistry, especially since they are set to clash with a team that also boasts of swift-footed players and skillful shooters.
“Hopefully, sana mag-continue yung camaraderie and yung ano ng mga bagong players maka-adjust doon sa mga dati kong players,” the NHA Builders coach said.
(Hopefully, we can continue the camaraderie and the integration of the news players to our team.)
“Marami [pa kaming adjustments na gagawin], kasi unang una yung mga shooting nila hindi pa naglalabasan, yung mga passing nila, pati yung defense, yung defense nade-delay pa masyado. Hindi sila nag-aadjust kaagad kaya nababagsakan ng tao sa ilalim. So madami pa kami ia-adjust sa kanila so hopefully makapasok kami sa championship,” Coach Palad added.
(We still have to do a lot of adjustments. Firstly, their shooting: sure shots are not consistent yet, their passing, their defense mostly are delayed that’s why we have allowed the opponents a lot of points in the paint. So, we still have to work out a lot of things. Hopefully, we can qualify for championship title this season.)
Team PhilHealth Plus is also adjusting its players’ techniques, refusing to get intimidated by NHA’s speed and power.
“Together with the coaching staff, we need to adjust… nakita namin yung plus at minus ng team namin but we really have to help each other to get rebounding, we have to take advantage of our quickness and sa aming mga shooting we need to practice more,” PhilHealth Plus Head Coach Delio Aseron III said.
(Together with the coaching staff, we need to adjust…we saw the strengths and weaknesses of our team. But we really have to help each other to get rebounding. We have to take advantage of our quickness. And when it comes to our shooting, we need to practice more.)
PhilHealth has yet to record a win after suffering a defeat from their debut match with DA Food Masters last week.
